On January 26th from 2:30-4pm in Buchanan 1910, professor emerita of history Jane Sherron de Hart will be speaking about her new biography, Ruth Bader Ginsburg: A Life. The book is the first full life account of the 107th Supreme Court Justice and was written with the cooperation of Ginsburg herself.

Professor De Hart is also the author of Sex, Gender, and the Politics of Sex: A State and a Nation, co-written with Donald G. Matthews, which won the American Political Science Association’s Victoria Schuck Award for the best book on women and politics.

UCSB History professor and author Laura Kalman will present commentary on the significance of De Hart’s new book. Discussion and a reception will follow.
