UCSB Film and Media Studies scholars Ross Melnick and Charles Wolfe discussed Ross Melnick’s new book Hollywood’s Embassies: How Movie Theaters Projected American Power Around the World. Melnick’s book explores society’s fascination with idealized movie theaters that were made to be cultural embassies, exploring a new way to view film history and American power.
