Join the Image Resource Center (IRC) for two presentations of mapping and data visualization tools in practice. As part of the ongoing IRC Digital Image Lab Series, Mapping, two colleagues from the Art, Design & Architecture Museum will discuss how and why they have applied mapping technologies in their projects. Julia Larson, Archivist, Architecture & Design Collection, will demonstrate how she and her intern have used Clio to create walking tours. Sophia Quach McCabe, UCSB History of Art & Architecture Ph.D. 2019 and AD&A Museum Academic Coordinator, will talk about her use of ArcGIS, Palladio and Gephi for her dissertation and in a publication on artist networks. A Q&A session will follow the presentations.
