On April 12th from 10:30am to 5pm in the Mosher Alumni House Library and Geiringer Hall, The Germanic and Slavic Studies department will be commemorating UCSB professor Ursula Mahlendorf, who passed away in October of 2018. Mahlendorf taught in both the German department and the Women’s Studies program, and was the first female professor to receive tenure at UCSB. Her former colleagues will be speaking on her life and her works. There will also be a music recital with pianist Mandee Madrid-Sikich and graduate student Tyler Reece.
