On February 27th from 3:30 to 4:45pm in the Music Library Seminar Room 2406, UC Riverside Ethnomusicology PhD graduate Hannah Balcomb will present a talk titled “What Happened to the Indigenous of Argentina? Los Primeros Desaparecidos, Identity Politics, Music and Popular Protest in a post-Dirty War World.” The talk, a part of the UCSB Ethnomusicology Forum, will examine the roles of culture-bearers on Argentinian society: musicians, dancers, artists, and others who have kept indigenous elements alive in the country.
