On November 14th from 12-2 p.m. in SSMS 2135, University of Toronto Director of Cinema Studies James Leo Cahill will present a talk about Jean Painleve’s short, surreal, scientific and animal films and the entangled histories of cinema, surrealism, and contemporaneous scientific research. He will explore the importance of these themes to film history and theory through his new book, Zoological Surrealism.
