In this talk, Hugo Garcia Gonzalez of Texas Tech University will discuss the academic achievement gap between White students and students of color. Garcia Gonzalez will elaborate on these structured inequalities and his research, which suggests that dual enrollment programs encourage postsecondary college participation and completion rates among Latino students. He found that these programs are helpful for students in working backgrounds to ease their transition into higher education.

The talk will be held on Tuesday, January 8th at 4:00pm in the Center for Black Studies Research in South Hall, Room 4603.
