On January 31 at 5pm in HSSB 1151, The Department of Theater and Dance will be holding a viewing of work from Japanese artist Kondo Aisuke’s “Matter and Memory” series. Kondo’s work uses a variety of media to explore themes of identity, memory, and history. “Matter and Memory” traces his grandfather’s journey as an immigrant in the U.S., from his arrival to the country until his incarceration in the Topaz internment camp. The viewing will be followed by a Q & A with the artist.
This event is co-sponsored by the departments of Asian American Studies & East Asian Languages and Cultural Studies
